  • Product Description

Knotted slippers are a delicate little foot covering. Try them in a luxurious fingering or lace weight yarn for a special gift. This is an elegant way to practice the Kitchener stitch, you will be an expert after a couple of pairs!

    Skills Needed

General knitting skills plus magic loop or using two circs; kitchener stitch.

    Sizes

    US women’s shoe size 5–6 (6.5–7.5, 8–9, 9.5–10.5, 11–12)

    Materials

    Yarn Options

    • 1 skein A Verb For Keeping Warm Floating (70% Alpaca, 20% Cashmere, 10% Silk, 100 g/400 yds), or
    • 1 skein Malabrigo Sock (100% superwash merino wool, 100 g/440 yds), or
    • 1 skein Valley Yarns Charlemont (60% superwash merino, 20% silk, 20% polyamide, 100 g/439 yds), or
    • 200 (200, 250, 300, 350) yds of lace or fingering weight used doubled.

Note: You will need to use the yarn double for the body of the slipper and then single for the knot so a single, heavier weight yarn will not work. Each of these skeins will yield two pairs for sizes 5–6 and 6.5–7.5 size, and one pair for sizes 8–9, 9.5–10.5, and 11–12.

    Needles

    • US 5 long circ for magic loop or two circs for circ knitting using two needles
    • US 5 or smaller dpn
    • 4 st markers
    • st holders
    • Small gauge circ needle for picking up sts (this is optional but helpful) Change needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.

    Gauge

24 sts and 46 rows (23 ridges) = 4" in garter st using yarn doubled.
