When I teach knitting classes on how to custom fit garments, this is the most popular pattern we use. This cardigan is versatile and flattering on a variety of figures. Wear it open or pin it with a fun brooch at the neck or waist. It works for everyone!
General knitting skills.
Small (medium, large, x-large)
NOTE: The open design accommodates a range of sizes. It can be left open in larger sizes or closed with an inch or so of overlap in the smaller sizes.
11 (11, 13, 15, 16, 17) skeins Debbie Bliss Donegal Luxury Tweed
(85% wool, 15% angora, 92 yds/50g).
7 (7, 8, 9, 10, 11) skeins Jo Sharp Silkroad dk Tweed
(85% merino wool, 10% silk, 5% cashmere, 147 yds/50g).
Any light worsted yarn that gets gauge.
Needles
#7 or #8 needles or size needed to obtain gauge.
Optional brooch for closure.
16 sts and 24 rows = 4" square in st st.
